Customers are required to co-operate with boarding times in order that safety procedures can be carried out. Tickets must be purchased before boarding on services where there is a shore ticketing facility.
Latest vehicle check-in timesOn all services where there is a shore ticketing facility, vehicle drivers must be in possession of tickets before boarding and are required to check-in no later than the times shown above each route timetable, otherwise space will be reallocated. Late check-in may lead to the vehicle being refused carriage.
Baggage allowancePassengers are allowed 40kg each of personal baggage (suitcases, rucksacks etc but not commercial goods) FREE. Passengers must be able to carry the luggage up the gangway in one trip. Passengers are not permitted to make several trips up and down the gangway due to counting regulations. Service disruptionCalMac’s online and text Service Information facility allows you to be kept up-to-date from home or on the road. There are three ways to access service status information: text, online and by telephone. Text – for service information direct to your mobile, text CalMac and the route text code to 60030. Text messages cost 25p each. Route codes can be found on the table below. Online – the easy to view red, amber, green system gives up-to-date information on all of CalMac’s routes. Visit our Service Status section on www.calmac.co.uk Telephone – call our Service Information line on 0800 066 5400 for an update. The Company does not accept any liability for any loss, costs or expenses incurred by passengers in the event of the delay, diversion or cancellation of a sailing. Examples of these may include, but are not limited to, accommodation costs or travel by an alternative form of transportation.
Passengers are strongly advised to consider insuring themselves against costs which may be incurred through delays, cancellations etc.
