Caledonian MacBrayne jazzing up Wemyss Bay/Rothesay service

Ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne will provide additional daytime sailings between Wemyss Bay and Rothesay on Friday 2, Saturday 3 and Monday 5 May, in order to meet anticipated demand for travel to and from the Bute Jazz Festival. These extra sailings will take place within the existing timetabled hours. They are not additional late sailings.

Caledonian MacBrayne name new ship MV Loch Portain

Ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne will tomorrow (Thursday 24th) name the latest addition to its Hebridean and Clyde fleet. MV Loch Portain, which will connect the communities of North Uist and Harris between Berneray and Leverburgh, will be named by Mrs Marion Mills, wife of Caledonian MacBrayne Chairman Dr Harold Mills at McTay’s yard in Bromborough on the Wirral peninsula.

Caledonian MacBrayne and JoLomo to enchant the Isles

Ferry operators Caledonian MacBrayne, in conjunction with Kranenburg & Fowler Fine Arts of Oban, are to re-create the innovative and successful Enchanted Isles cruise, which was a first for ferry operators last year. On the acclaimed non-landing cruise from Oban to Colonsay, CalMac converts one of its major ships, MV Isle of Mull, into a floating art gallery for the weekend.
