CalMac receives Invitation to Tender for Gourock/Dunoon route

Ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne has confirmed receipt of an Invitation to Tender (ITT) from the Scottish Executive, for the Gourock to Dunoon ferry route.

CalMac welcomes extension to Sound of Harris sailing hours

Ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne has confirmed that the company has been granted, subject to completion of agreed operational issues, an extension to the sailings hours permissible on the Sound of Harris service between Leverburgh and Berneray.

CalMac clarifies ambulance policy

Ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne has clarified its policy on dealing with ambulances and emergencies following correspondence from Argyll and Bute MSP George Lyon which called on the company to alter the way it handles such incidents.

NorthLink Ferries formed to complete Northern Isles handover

NorthLink Ferries Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of David MacBrayne Ltd, whose sole shareholder is Scottish Ministers, is today completing the arrangements to begin operating the Northern Isles ferry sevice operation, previously handled by Northlink Orkney and Shetland Ferries Limited.

NORTHERN ISLES FERRY SERVICES CONTRACT AWARDED

Transport Minister Tavish Scott today gave the go ahead for NorthLink Ferries Ltd to be awarded the six year contract for the lifeline ferry services to Orkney and Shetland.

Caledonian MacBrayne tackle fishing dangers at Gourock

Ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne is warning that dangers posed by people fishing and vandalism on company property will not be allowed to continue and that police action could follow.

New Chairman confirmed for CalMac

The Chairman of Caledonian MacBrayne, Dr Harold Mills, has welcomed confirmation of the appointment of Peter Timms of Bute as his successor.
