Caledonian MacBrayne services from Mallaig
11 November 2002

Ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne has confirmed that road works affecting the A830 Mallaig to Fort William road from November 18, will not affect services from Mallaig.

A section of the road in the Arisaig area is to be closed between 1045 and 1445 for eight weeks from November 18 while work is being done to improve the road.

Peter Clark, CalMac’s Route Manager responsible for the services from Mallaig said: “The road works and the closures are being scheduled in such a way that there should be no affect at all on traffic to our services. I would like to reassure customers using our services that the schedule should not be affected by the road works which will at the end of the day lead to a much better road to Mallaig. Customers should check before travelling if they are in any doubt at all and staff at our offices will be able to confirm the detail of the closure times for them.”

CalMac customers wishing to check the status of the roadwork’s during the period where work is scheduled should contact the Mallaig office on 0101687 462403.
