Ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne has confirmed that a further meeting will be held with representatives of the RMT union on Monday to finalise proposals for a wage settlement.

CalMac Director of Human Resources Alasdair MacInnes said: “We met representatives of the union in Glasgow this afternoon and will meet on Monday again to finalise details of the proposals for settlement which the union will present to their members. The meeting today was constructive and cleared the air on a number of matters. I now anticipate the conclusion of the talks on Monday or Tuesday when I hope we will be able to confirm that industrial action will be avoided.”

Cal Mac will be making no further comment on the talks until the outcome of the deliberations detailed above.
