Caledonian MacBrayne augment timetable for Bute Games
18 August 2004

Ferry company Caledonian MacBrayne  will operate additional services between WemyssBay and Rothesay for the Bute Highland Games on Saturday, August 21.

CalMac has confirmed that the normal Saturday timetable will be supplemented by additional passenger-only sailings using MV Ali Cat, which can carry up to 250 passengers.

CalMac's Upper Clyde Route Manager Shirley Fraser said: "I am pleased to be able to offer additional passenger services for Bute Highland Games.  MV Ali Cat has operated between WemyssBay and Rothesay on a number of occasions and will help cope with the increased numbers of foot passengers that we are expecting.  Obviously, there will be increased volumes of traffic from Friday through to Sunday and customers should make allowance for that in planning their travel schedules to and from the island."
