CalMac Ferries enhances website functionality
21 June 2007

CalMac Ferries Ltd, Scotland’s leading ferry operator, has launched a number of enhancements to its website aimed at making the information and booking capability more accessible and attractive to customers.

From today(Thursday, June 21, 2007), the company’s website, www.calmac.co.uk, includes enhanced online booking facilities, enabling owners of motorhomes, caravans, trailers, and motorcycles to book online. The website also now includes an Events listings service, offering additional ideas options for things to do in the Hebridean and Clyde islands, and updated information about the island destinations served by the lifeline ferry service.

Visitors to the website are able to enter a Prize Draw for a Hopscotch ticket, simply by posting their favourite “Island Experience” on www.calmac.co.uk.

CalMac's Marketing Manager, Susan Paterson, said: “Our website www.calmac.co.uk is now arguably the most comprehensive website about all the Hebridean and Clyde islands. The new Events Listings service, which is powered by www.hi-arts.co.uk, will give visitors to the Clyde and Hebridean islands invaluable information and a great choice of events across the CalMac network. I am also particularly pleased to confirm that many more customers will be able to book online, thanks to our enhanced online booking service. We have added these developments to our website in response to customer feedback. We have always prided ourselves on introducing innovation and freshening up the website and this has been recognised through awards from the industry. calmac.co.uk really is a “one-stop shop” to the Clyde and Hebridean islands and the economy of the islands and communities we serve can only benefit from that.”
