CalMac to support Tour of Mull Rally
09 October 2007

Ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne will be the main Travel Supporter of the Tunnocks Tour of Mull Rally 2007, which is to take place in Mull from 12 – 13 October 2007. The CalMac support will assist with the costs of transporting key vehicles and back-up facilitates to the Tour of Mull Rally, organised by the 2300 Club.
CalMac’s Regional Manager Argyll, Ian Fox said: “CalMac recognises the importance of the Mull Rally to the island in terms of its economic impact and also its marketing potential beyond the island itself, through competitors, supporters and related promotional activities. The event brings significant business to the island and to the ferry company and it is an event which when jointly promoted, will be of long-term benefit to both the island and the ferry company.
CalMac’s involvement as the main Travel Supporter of the Tour of Mull Rally 2007 includes presentation of the Caledonian MacBrayne trophy for the best unplaced Scottish Driver. A major prize will also be supplied by CalMac for the Rally Raffle/fundraising. CalMac is delighted to be associated with a high profile Scottish sporting event which has a major local, national and international appeal whilst retaining community involvement and supporting local individuals and groups.
This new agreement is for one year initially and will be subject to review at the conclusion of the 2007 event to discuss the potential for continuing development.
CalMac will also be linked to the official Mull Rally website www.2300club.org with reciprocal links established with www.calmac.co.uk

Ends.
