| 12 August 2008 Caledonian MacBrayne appoints new Public Affairs Manager Ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne, has appointed David Cannon as Public Affairs Manager, based at its Gourock headquarters. Lawrie Sinclair, Managing Director of CalMac, said: "David has worked in both public and private sectors for nearly 30 years, the last 17 of which were at economic development agency, Scottish Enterprise in Glasgow. "It is an exciting time to be joining CalMac, which attaches great importance to its communications with its customers, partners and stakeholders, and David will bring a wealth of experience to this role." David is a qualified journalist, who trained at the Evening News in Edinburgh and at BBC Radio Scotland. His links with the Highlands and Islands go back to the early 1980s when he worked for the former Highlands and Islands Development Board in Inverness.
