CALMAC LAUNCH 2009 EXPLORE BROCHURE AT ROYAL NATIONAL MOD
16 October 2008

Ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne (CalMac) today (Thursday, October 16) launched its 2009 Explore brochure at the Royal National Mod in Falkirk.

Speaking at the launch, Lawrie Sinclair, Managing Director of Caledonian MacBrayne said: “Explore 2009 is CalMac’s main leisure brochure and an essential planning tool for everyone interested in travelling to the 24 destinations off Scotland’s west coast that are served by the CalMac network.

“I am pleased to announce that for the first time, Explore 2009 is also available online at www.calmac.co.uk.  This is in response to the increasing number of people who plan their holidays via the internet, as well as in consideration of environmental concerns. We do recognise however, that many people will still prefer to have a paper version and copies of the brochure are also available from CalMac ferry terminals and on our ferries, as well as from other tourism outlets around the country.”

The 2009 Explore brochure includes CalMac’s timetables from 19 October, 2008, to 26 March, 2009, (Winter) and 27 March, 2009, to 24 October, 2009 (Summer.) It also provides information on rail and bus connections, a selection of accommodation advertisements and suggestions on what visitors can see and do around the CalMac network, illustrated with photographs chosen to appeal to a wide range of visitors.

Copies of CalMac’s Winter timetables for 2009, which start on October 19, 2008, are also now available from ports, offices and on ships.

Making a reservation or getting service information has also never been easier with two free-phone numbers - 08000 66 5000 for Reservations and 08000 66 5400 for Service Information.
