Duart Castle Experience

Standing proudly on a clifftop guarding the Sound of Mull, Duart Castle enjoys one of the most spectacular and unique positions on the west coast of Scotland. Duart Castle can be seen as you arrive into Craignure from Oban where it stands on a crag at the end of a peninsula at the intersection of the sound of Mull, Loch Linnhe and the Firth of Lorne. For over 400 years this has been the base of the Clan Maclean and today it is the home of Sir Lachlan Maclean and is visited by Macleans from all over the world. Relive the past with a walk through the ancient keep or visit the dungeons where officers of a Spanish galleon were imprisoned. Or, simply take a journey through time and read the Clan Chiefs’ history in the new exhibition area at the top of the keep. Ticket includes return ferry crossing to Mull, return coach service to Duart Castle and entry to the Castle.
