Boarding Information

Latest passenger check-in times

Latest check-in times before departure are shown at the top of each timetable. Customers are required to co-operate with boarding times in order that safety procedures can be carried out. Tickets must be purchased before boarding.

 

Latest vehicle check-in times

On all services, vehicle drivers must be in possession of tickets before boarding and are required to check-in no later than the times shown above each route timetable, otherwise space will be reallocated. Late check-in may lead to the vehicle being refused carriage.

 

Baggage allowance

Customers are allocated 40kg each of personal baggage (suitcases, rucksacks, etc but not commercial goods) FREE. Customers must be able to carry the luggage up the gangway in one trip. Customers are not permitted to make several trips up and down the gangway due to counting regulations. Elderly or infirm customers and nursing parents requiring assistance with luggage should contact any member of staff who will be pleased to offer assistance.

 

Service disruption

CalMac does not accept liability for expenses incurred by passengers due to delay to, or cancellation of services, however caused. This includes the cost of accommodation or travel by buses, trains or taxis, etc required after missed connections.
