Barra

Known as the ‘Garden of the Hebrides’, Barra is a proud island with a rich sense of Gaelic culture and tradition. The island offers open roads, sandy beaches and is a popular destination for nature lovers of all kinds. The ferry from Oban berths alongside the delightful Kisimul Castle which guards the port of Castlebay from a rocky islet.

The main route to Barra is from Oban on the mainland. Barra is also connected to South Uist via sailings from Lochboisdale and Eriskay.

Visit the Hebrides or Isle of Barra for more information.
