"After a few days of unpredictable weather on the West Coast, we were greeted with wondrous sunshine and warm temperatures on the holy island of Iona. The beauty was abundant - white beaches, lapped by turquoise water, and with the ancient ruins it felt like a Tropical Celtic getaway. We wondered the quiet village, warming ourselves with the sun and local sights. We finished off our day with soup and pints, which graciously delivered to our sea-side view providing a tasty ending to our perfect day!"

Mr N Margo, Edinburgh

"Our island experience was late last summer on the ferry to Tobermory with my 2 year old son on his first big boat trip, not just any boat trip but to "Balamory". He was just running about with excitement and was so happy when one of the crew pointed out some seals and asked him about Balamory. It was an experience we will never forget. Thanks for making a wee boy happy."

"I am totally enchanted by the Island of Mull, and get my "fix" as often as possible. Our first visit was 25 years ago, and I can't wait for my grandchildren to grow big enough for me to take.   We sometimes stayed at Glengorm and I remember we would sit in the garden, watching in absolute silence, the magical sunsets over the sea, breathing in the sounds and smells of nature at its most glorious, the whole beauty and tranquillity of the island and all the little islands around us soaking into our bones."

 Mrs A Southworth, Lancashire

"We almost missed the ferry to Iona as they had closed up to sail... but seeing us running down the gangway they waited and let us on. In our haste to catch the second last ferry we left our camera in the car. The amazing man taking the tickets on the ferry overheard our dismay and offered to pick up our camera and deliver it to us on the last ferry. A perfect gesture of welcome, making our Iona visit more than perfect. We had a beautiful dinner and was also able to record another stunning sunset."

 Ms D Lyons, Hawick

"My favourite island excursion was Lungha (part of the Treshnish Islands. The magic of sitting on top of a cliff with puffins happily landing and walking round you was exquisite and has never been matched since. My favourite beach is the sandy North Beach of Iona which has brilliant views of the Treshnish Islands, including Staffa, and feels isolated and peaceful - the perfect place to relax and enjoy."

 Mrs C Dawson, Lancashire

"Experiencing the sight of a young Golden Eagle compared to a nearby Buzzard on Islay was stunning - what a difference in size when able to compare properly. We have waited 40 years to see this! Even managed a short piece of video for posterity. We are planning to expand our island experience this year to the outer Isles, a Hopscotch ticket would prove very useful."

 Mr N Melsom, Lancashire

"When my girlfriend told me last year that she was going to book two weeks going around the Western Isles I thought she was mad. How wrong I was! We spent a wonderful couple of weeks sampling the unique personality of seven islands. The outstanding beauty, culture and romance of the islands, combined with the friendly service of Calmac contributed to what was simply the best holiday I have ever had. To top it all off, on the way back from Tiree, and the end of our holiday, my girlfriend proposed to me on your ferry while going down the Sound of Mull, so I think we owe CalMac quite a lot. Thank you so much for a truly magical holiday!"
