ROYAL NATIONAL MOD WEEK OBAN 2009Caledonian MacBrayne is proud to be Main Commercial Supporter of Am Mòd Nàiseanta Rìoghail, 'The Royal National Mod', and to mark its return to Oban in 2009, we've designed a special programme of associated events and Cruises exclusive to Royal National Mod Week.
The Mod is Scotland's premier festival of the Gaelic language, arts and culture and is held annually in different locations throughout Scotland. This year the event is being held in Oban from 9 - 17 October 2009. It's a competition based festival that celebrates the Gaelic language and culture through music, dance, drama, arts and literature. |

As well as the many Gaels who attend regularly, the festival also attracts visitors and competitors from throughout the UK, Ireland, Australia, Canada and the USA. It is also a chance to gather and renew old friendships or forge new ones. So whether you're in Oban taking part in the Mod, supporting family and friends or just enjoying the special atmosphere that accompanies the Royal National Mod, make sure you set aside some time to Cruise with CalMac or attend one of our special events.
Click on the coloured links below to find out more about what we have planned throughout the week. (This will open a printable leaflet in a new window, please note it may take a minute to open depending on your connection).
