Service Status icons

Service status icons and what they mean

Below is a summary of the situations that would most commonly appear under each status.

normal icon green

Services on this route are running normally without disruption.

Be Aware Yellow icon

Services on this route are currently running normally, however there is a heightened possibility of disruption. Be aware and keep checking the route's service status and information web pages for the latest information. Also, if one or more sailings on this route are slightly delayed (30 minutes or less), this status would be displayed.

This icon may also be used to inform customers of service information such as reminders of tidal changes, which are notified in our Service Changes page, short-term amended timetables, or where extra sailings have been added.

maybe affected icon amber

Partial disruption to service. One or more sailings on this route are delayed (by over 30 minutes), cancelled or diverted to another port. It can also mean a temporary timetable is in place due to weather conditions, technical issues, or for operational reasons.

cancelled icon red

All sailings on this route are cancelled for the rest of the day.

Grey icon Information

This can be used in conjunction with any of the service status colours and icons, and will be used to update customers with information that may affect their journey to and from ports, including local travel, road or harbour works updates.

This may also be used to inform customers of service information such as long-term amended timetables and any relevant vessel overhaul information updates.

Any minor technical issues that may impact customers will be communicated in this format too, e.g. if a vessel is operating single ended or passenger lifts may be out of service.
