Bunnahabhain Distillery

Where unique meets exceptional

At Bunnahabhain, we have been dedicated to excellence and craftsmanship since 1881. Nestled on the rugged shores of Islay, our distillery is steeped in tradition and only accessible by boat until the 1960s, now reached by a single-track road. Our multi-award-winning single malt whisky is highly revered for its unique unpeated style, perfectly married with the finest sherry casks. Each drop is a testament to our time-honoured craftsmanship. We take great care in hand-selecting the finest casks, ensuring our whisky matures to perfection with no added colour - a true representation of the cask. Our robust, complex, and oily spirit is un-chill filtered, delivering a distinctively rich, creamy mouthfeel. With hints of nuts, fruit, and a subtle smoky finish, Bunnahabhain stands as the ideal choice for those seeking a refined single malt whisky experience. Elevate your whisky collection with Bunnahabhain, where unique meets exceptional.

Rich Heritage

Bunnahabhain's authenticity is deeply rooted in its rich heritage. Established in 1881, our distillery is one of the oldest on Islay, preserving the time-honoured methods of whisky production. This legacy of craftsmanship has been passed down through generations, ensuring that each bottle of Bunnahabhain is steeped in history.

Local Community

Our distillery is more than just a place where whisky is made; it's a vibrant community. Many of our team members have familial ties to Bunnahabhain, with their skills and knowledge handed down over the years. This deep connection to the local community and the land of Islay infuses every drop of our whisky with a sense of place and tradition.

Genuine Ingredients

Authenticity starts with the finest ingredients. We source our barley and pure Islay water locally from our very own Margadale spring, ensuring that only the best components go into our whisky. This commitment to using genuine, high-quality ingredients is fundamental to the authentic flavour profile of Bunnahabhain.
