Role Overview:-
Working within the Business Improvement Team (BIT) you will be responsible for delivery of the agreed outputs and the day-to-day management of multiple projects ensuring adherence to the Corporate Project Governance.
Responsible for the initiation, planning, execution, and eventual closure of a project.  Produce Business Cases as required and define the project, specifying it to a set of manageable tasks, obtain appropriate resources approval, and build a team to perform the work.
Extensive engagement with the business and act in accordance with direction from the Sponsor.
Primary responsibility is to deliver the required outputs within the specified tolerances and to the agreed cost, quality, scope and time, as defined within the Business Case.

Principal accountabilities:-
Plan and design the project structure and proactively manage its overall progress against plan.

Manage the project budget, monitoring the expenditures and costs against forecasts and justify the release of funding in line with milestones delivered.

Produce the documentation as defined within the governance arrangements.

Identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies, including the development of contingency plans, in partnership with PMO.

Manage third party suppliers and other contributors to the project.

Direct and motivate the Project Delivery Team.

Manage the information flows between the programme and project teams.

Liaise with Portfolio/Programme Managers to ensure identification of synergies and opportunities for collaboration and efficiencies.

Maintain the project controls - monitoring and reporting.

Undertake stakeholder analysis and manage the communications with stakeholders.

Implement appropriate governance and control regime, and ensure Project Delivery Team members adhere to this regime.

Manage and maintain all project documentation and deliverables in accordance with corporate PMO guidance.

Organise and chair the Project Team Meeting ensuring actions arising are captured and tracked to closure.

Regularly review the plan and identify corrective action if necessary.

Advise the Portfolio/Programme Manager and relevant Project Steering Group of any deviations from the project plan, and escalate as required.

Prepare timely inputs for the Project Steering Group and ensure actions arising from the meeting are captured and tracked to completion.

Prepare timely inputs for the Portfolio Management Board where required.

Manage the delivery of project outputs, taking responsibility for overall progress and use of resources and initiating corrective action where necessary.

Qualifications, skills and experience:-
Degree or equivalent qualification.
Professional Qualification in a relevant discipline.
Experienced Project Manager, with a minimum of 5 years' experience of delivering Projects with an IT environment, including Projects to deliver technical services whether these are application or technically focused including live and critical services.
Previous Experience working in a multiple supplier environment.
Formal Project Management Qualification (i.e. Prince2).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Highly skilled in communicating effectively with senior managers, colleagues and other stakeholders.
Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and think clearly in challenging situations in a logical manner
Good team player; highly motivated; ability to motivate; good relationship builder with strong diplomacy skills.
Must be able to work proactively, under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Desirable:
ITIL v 3 Foundation accredited
ITIL v 3 Intermediate accredited
