Thursday at the Mod 2015

Isle of mull Ferry image

Mòd week brings a great sense of community and expresses the pride and importance of Gaelic culture and heritage.  If it's your first visit or you're a regular you receive a warm and friendly welcome and are soon part of the Mòd family. Alongside the tough competitions there are cultural fringe events in venues around Oban, providing a vibrant experience of music, ceilidhs, comedy and much more.  Today we catch up with old friends and new, with the focus turning to the choirs, as we head into our final few days of Mòd 2015.

Hector MacKechnie

We caught up with our very own Hector MacKechnie one year on from his success in the Silver Pendant competition in Inverness and find out how he is enjoying his "home" Mòd in Oban. He even treated us to a song.

Ainsley Hamill

Beautiful singer Ainsley popped along to the MacBraynes bus to share her Mòd experiences, her passion for singing Gaelic songs and performed one of the songs she sang in the Gold Medal final competition.  Mòran taing Ainsley!
