Armadale Castle and Gardens

Take a trip to the impressive Armadale Castle and Gardens on the beautiful Sleat peninsula on Skye. The 20,000-acre estate includes the castle ruins, which were home to the clan Donald until 1925, and the historic gardens - a sheltered floral paradise where plants from around the world thrive. There are also woodland trails, terraced walks and an award winning Museum of the Isles where you can discover the story of the powerful clan Donald. The estate offers beautiful walks for all levels of fitness with views east across the Sound of Sleat to Knoydart and west across to the Cuillin mountain range. The area is rich in wildlife - you may be lucky enough to spot red deer, golden eagles and the elusive but majestic sea eagle.

For lovers of
History and heritage, easy walking, nature, gardens and wildlife.
