A week of classical music on Loch Shiel
For a weekend in April, Loch Shiel draws classical musicians from across the UK to its shores. Each year the Loch Shiel Spring Festival takes a different theme - the music of 2014 was arranged around the idea of homecoming, with specific reference to the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War. The festival's artistic director, violinist Charles Mutter, is associate leader of the BBC Concert Orchestra - the perfect coordinator for a festival that focuses on a rich variety of musical styles.
