A week of walking on Islay, Jura and Colonsay
You don't necessarily have to be a professional hiker in heaps of technical clothing for this Walk Islay Festival . The difficulty and length of each walk varies from the easy to the extreme, so there's something for all abilities.
One day you could be creeping through RSPB reserve The Oa, watching out for golden eagles, nesting ravens, and feral goats. The next day you could get a ferry to Jura and follow a trained mountain guide over the Paps - challenging, strenuous, and spectacular. And if you're drawn to whisky as well as walking and wildlife, there are a couple of walks around the island distilleries. Whichever ones you choose, you'll need good boots and a packed lunch for the adventure.
