Port Askaig resurfacing works 19 April - 27 April 2021
Argyll & Bute Council are carrying out resurfacing works on the marshalling area and car lanes at our Port Askaig port from 19 April - 26 April 2021.
To allow these improvement works to take place, during this time, a temporary timetable for the Kennacraig - Islay (Port Ellen/Port Askaig) route will be in operation from 19 April until 27 April 2021, which also allows for a short contingency period, should the planned works over run.
This would mean our summer timetable for this route is expected to commence on 28 April 2021. This is a few days later than the start date of our summer timetable on our other routes.
We are working closely with Argyll & Bute Council to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum while they carry out works to deliver a much-improved facility. They also estimate that the introduction of this temporary timetable has helped them to reduce the overall time required to complete the resurfacing project and therefore reduce any impacts to the service.
Please note that passengers travelling on the 1800 departure from Port Askaig will be unable to check in before 1630 due to the restricted access to the car lanes.
For full details on connecting bus services, visit the Citylink website. Port staff will communicate with Citylink at the time to manage any tight connections as a result of the amended timetable.
