There is an ongoing technical issue with one of the hydraulic lifting cylinders at Gourock ferry terminal, which could prevent the cylinder from lifting the linkspan.
Port owners Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd have, on safety grounds, taken a decision to close the linkspan until further notice, which means we need to use the Kilcreggan steps to board passengers. They are currently working with engineering specialists to identify the cause of the issue. We will keep you updated when we receive more details of when the linkspan is expected to be back in operation.
We apologise for any inconvenience this temporary arrangement may cause.
