Plan ahead for Storm Caroline

Storm Caroline is set to hit Scotland's northwest coast and islands from 8:00 a.m. to 23:55 p.m. on Thursday 07 December.

"A Met Office Yellow National Severe Weather Warning for wind has been issued for Storm Caroline with wind gusts of 60-70mph expected quite widely across the warning area and up to 80mph in the more exposed north-facing coastal locations."

"The Yellow warning area which extends from 8am on Thursday until midnight includes most of the Western Isles, the Northern Isles and the majority of mainland Scotland from Oban to Aberdeen." (MetOffice)

Services across the CalMac network may be subject to delays or cancellation at short notice throughout the duration of the storm. We urge all customers planning to travel during this time to check their route Service Status ahead of their journey.

CalMac will continue to provide regular updates regarding travel information based on up to date weather forecasts being received, and where possible review options for alternative travel arrangements. Customers are advised to check the CalMac Service Status, SMS messaging and social media updates,  @CalMac_Updates , prior to travelling.
