Here you will find guidance, coach fares for 2017 and 2018 and some suggested spectacular tour itineraries for coach travel around the breath taking West Coast islands and peninsula's of Scotland.

Payment: Credit accounts may be available, subject to satisfactory trade and bank references, a minimum turnover of £3000 per annum and the requirement to have a UK bank account. Terms are 30 days with remittance being taken by Direct Debit.
Alternatively, Travel Trade advance payment accounts may be available, subject to satisfactory trade and a minimum turnover of £1,000 per annum. Payment is required in full, 30 days before the date of travel. In the event of non-payment at this time, reserved space may be withdrawn and reallocated. For none credit account customers - payment is required in full at the time of booking. Payment may be made by Credit Card.
Tickets for passengers travelling on a coach are commissionable provided the above conditions of a credit account have been met.
For none credit account customers - payment is required in full 4 weeks before the date of travel. In the event of payment not being received at that time, space reserved may be withdrawn and reallocated. Payment may be made by Credit Card or Cheque.
Vehicles are charged by overall length with rates for each route detailed in the coach fares matrix. This will include any rear mounted luggage racks, towbars and overhanging mirrors etc. The length of all types of vehicle must be declared at the time of booking - and will be checked on arrival at the port.
- Minibuses (not exceeding 5m) are charged the same rate as a car.
- Minibuses over 5m and all Coaches - see fares matrices for 2017 and 2018
- Empty coaches will be charged as a Commercial Vehicle
- The driver's fare is included in coach rates for vehicles over 5m.
Validity of Tickets
Tickets for coaches are non-commissionable, non-transferable and are non-refundable. Caledonian MacBrayne will not replace lost, stolen or mislaid tickets.
Conditions of carriage
Please note the precise dates on which tickets are valid. Restrictions may apply. Customers should note, however, that other Service Providers operate certain routes. The routes and other Service Providers are specified in Caledonian MacBrayne publications, timetables and leaflets.
Tickets are issued by Caledonian MacBrayne as agent only on behalf of the Service Provider for such routes. Tickets are issued subject to the Service Provider's Conditions of Carriage, displayed at and available on request at the Service Provider's Offices and on board its ferries.
Conditions of issue of ticket
Any ticket issued by Caledonian MacBrayne, or any other body, company or person, upon whose property or premises the ticket may be available, is subject to the Conditions of Carriage (see document link below) published by Caledonian MacBrayne.
Vehicle drivers must be in possession of tickets before boarding (where applicable) and are required to check in no later than the times shown above each route timetable, otherwise space will be reallocated. Late check-in may lead to the vehicle being refused carriage.
Caledonian MacBrayne has a policy of charging customers who fail to show for reserved sailings. Cancellations must be notified at least 7 days prior to the scheduled departure date.
Tri Axle Coaches - Summer 2017
Despite advising coach and tour operators in advance of travel, we occasionally have issues with tri axle coaches. The issue is that they are unable to embark or disembark onto or from a small ferry due to there being loss of traction from the centre drive axle when traversing the slip/vessel ramp onto/off the vessel.
Note - this issue only affects some small ferries on the following routes:
- Ardmhor - Eriskay
- Tobermory - Kilchoan
- Tayinloan - Gigha
- Tarbert - Portavadie
- Largs - Cumbrae (on only the smaller of the two ferries that operate the route)
