Arran Distillery - Tour to the Isle of Arran
About this tour
Arran is both beautiful and unique. With its mountains, lowlands, glens, lochs and royal castles, it has all the scenery of Scotland and affectionately known as 'Scotland in Miniature'. Lochranza is the location of the Arran Distillery and it really is a perfect location for producing the perfect Malt.
Here is why:
The area is home to the purest water in all of Scotland - water that's been cleansed by granite and softened by peat as it slowly meanders from the mountaintops into nearby Loch na Davie
Arran enjoys a warm microclimate - the atmosphere of sea breezes and clear mountain air, together with the warm flow of the Gulf Stream is ideal for the speedy maturation of single malts
Arran has a reputation for producing the highest quality whisky
The Distillery Visitor Centre was officially opened by Her Majesty The Queen in 1997 and is situated right next to the distillery. After visiting the Distillery there is plenty of time to take a tour around the island when there is the opportunity for your customers to take in the breath taking seascapes over to Kintyre and south towards the volcanic plug that is known as Ailsa Craig.
