Supplementary information

Saturday 18th May

The 09:45 sailing from Ardrossan and the 16:40 sailing from Brodick are fully booked for foot passengers today.

Customers without a booking are not guaranteed travel.

Please note rail and sail tickets from Scotrail are not a Calmac booking.

Friday 17th - Sunday 19th May
Please be advised that all foot passengers must have a valid booking prior to travel. This weekend is expected to be busy and some sailings are already close to full capacity. Please do not travel without a booking.
Please note, there is foot passengers space available on MV Alfred sailings to and from Troon.

Ardrossan-Brodick summer timetable (from 29 March 2024)
Due to MV Caledonian Isles having to undertake significant steelwork repairs, we have reviewed our deployment plans for the summer period.
MV Isle of Arran will continue to operate the Ardrossan-Brodick service. View timetable here.

If space is not available on the Ardrossan-Brodick service, there are two other options for travel to Arran. You can also travel from Troon-Brodick (up to/including 21 August, and except motorhomes/caravans and coaches), and on our turn-up-and-go Claonaig-Lochranza service.

Due to a smaller vessel operating the Ardrossan-Brodick service, we strongly encourage all customers – including foot passengers – to book in advance, in order to guarantee their space and avoid disappointment.

If you have an Ardrossan-Brodick booking which has been affected by this change, our team will be in contact with you to provide further information and support if your booking has been affected. Please be advised we are working through these changes in date order, and we will contact you as quickly as we can.

Whilst we update our reservation systems to reflect these changes, some sailings may appear unavailable. This is temporary, so please check back later.

Irish berth

On 2 February 2024 the owner of Ardrossan Harbour has advised that Irish berth, which has acted as the reserve berth for the Arran ferry service, is to close permanently.

Alternative routes to/from Arran - did you know there are two other options for travel to Arran? You can also travel from Troon to Brodick or from Claonaig to Lochranza.

Turn Up and Go and Bookable route online purchases. If you have purchased tickets online as a group or for any number of travel companions, for use on any of our Turn Up and Go or Bookable routes, the full party must travel on the same sailing. This applies to both legs of your journey. If you are unsure if all members of your group are travelling together, please complete separate transactions online.

Connecting Services - For customers using connecting services please note these services do not always guarantee a connection, particularly during times of disruption. We advise that you check both CalMac and connecting service websites prior to travel to ensure you can reach your end destination safely.

Stay Safe - When travelling with us, we strongly recommend our customers follow our safer travel guidance. Before travel, take a moment to familiarise yourself with the details.

Payment Information - Contactless payment is quick and easy. If you're travelling with us, please do so using a contactless payment method. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Apple, Google or Samsung Pay. If you need assistance, please speak with a member of staff.
