13 November 2024
Following the news that MV Caledonian Isles, which previously operated services between Ardrossan-Brodick, requires further repairs, we have planned for the vessel being unavailable for the duration for the winter timetable period. We have now published a revised winter deployment plan in response to the delay to MV Caledonian Isles's return to service that will impact a number of our routes.
Full details of changes to any services can be found in our customer updates section. Should there be any changes which affect services, we will keep customers updated via our Service Status and Information pages, which carry the latest information on sailings day to day, and customer updates.
If you have a reservation in the system that is affected by any changes, we will be in contact with you in date order of sailings.
Following on from our last update, we can confirm that timetables and customer bookings for Oban/Mallaig -Lochboisdale; Oban-Craignure and advance purchases Fionnphort-Iona for the period 5 January - 27 March are now available to view on our website and will open for bookings and advance purchases on Tuesday 29 October at 12noon.
We have also been able to re-instate the previously planned cancelled services to Colonsay in November/December and through the period between 5 January - 27 March 2025. *Sailings to Colonsay will now go ahead on 18 and 25 November and 6, 13, 20, 27 January & 3 February. *5 November update: Due to ongoing disruption across the network, we are currently unable to operate a service to Colonsay on Monday 18 & 25 November. 13 November update: read our Colonsay update for more details on further changes to services for winter timetable.
Thank you for your patience while our teams worked to revisit our vessel deployment plan for the period - in light of the extended delay to the return to service of MV Caledonian Isles - one of our major vessels.
In a change to our plans, a further update on remaining winter timetables and bookings for the period 5 January 2025 - 27 March 2025 will now be provided on *Thursday 17 October 2024. This change is necessary as we must now revisit our vessel deployment plan for the weeks and months ahead in light of this week's news on the extended delay to the return to service of MV Caledonian Isles - one of our major vessels.
A further update on remaining winter timetables and bookings for the period 5 January 2025 - 27 March 2025 will be provided on *Wednesday 9 October.
Bookings and advance purchases for our winter timetable period, 21 October 2024 - 27 March 2025*, are now open online, and via our telephone lines and port offices.
*Information on bookings and advance purchases for Mallaig/Oban - Lochboisdale, Oban - Craignure and Fionnphort - Iona routes
As per our previous customer update below, exceptions are in place for bookings on routes to/from South Uist, Mull and Iona from 5 January onwards.
Bookings and advance purchases for these three routes are open for the period 21 October 2024 up to 4 January 2025. We will publish the timetables, and release bookings for the period beyond 5 January, after 4 October.* (*now 17 October)
As previously communicated - we are still working on vessel deployment plans connected to these services. We've shared more context on vessel deployment in our previous update. Given the required connections with Oban - Craignure, this also affects Fionnphort - Iona.
