Customer Update - Campbeltown services

Updated 16 February 2026

The Campbeltown-Ardrossan crossing will not operate during the summer 2026 timetable period due to the lack of an available vessel to deliver the service.

MV Isle of Arran is currently the only major vessel in the fleet which can operate to Campbeltown’s harbour, however, during this period she will be required to deliver lifeline services elsewhere on the network during the busy summer period.

We know and fully understand this is disappointing for the Campbeltown community and customers who wished to use the service; however, we do need to prioritise island communities where the ferry service is a lifeline since it’s the only route open to communities.

You can also travel to Kintyre by ferry, an alternative option to the full road route: from Portavadie on the Cowal & Dunoon peninsula and from Lochranza on Arran.
