About Us

Maol Fold - As a first generation farmer it's difficult to get a business established.

We've been lucky enough to get rented grazing on Arran, and have managed to now expand our highland cattle fold and sheep flock.

So how do we aim to make our business move forward?

Speaking to a few highland cattle folds they mentioned about people coming to visit and interact with cattle, and so we started hairy coo encounters. We let people brush and interact with a couple of young heifers which are nice and quiet. Then we move on into the grazing field where cows and calves are grazing peacefully, we chat about fold and let everyone take pictures along with answering any questions.

It's a basic experience but hands on. We are trying to get days set twice a week but just now are pretty flexible, can cater for groups up to 10 people at a time. But can also do a bespoke group tours with some notice.

We hope to improve anything that guests feedback to us but so far so good.
