Wild Hebridean Swimming

Wild Hebridean Swimming, Isle of Mull and Iona

Emma runs wild swimming retreats on the Isles of Mull, Iona and Islay bringing together a community of people from all over the world united by a common love of swimming. At the heart of her retreats is a deep connection to nature, wellbeing and community. A qualified and experienced coach, Emma welcomes all abilities from beginners to experienced swimmers providing guidance that builds confidence and encourages everyone to explore their own potential while making unforgettable memories. Guests leave feeling transformed, buoyed by adventure and friendship.

Retreats run between April and October over 4- and 5-nights and swimmers can choose from a range of retreats depending on whether they are a cold water enthusiast who enjoys short immersions, a leisure swimmer who wants to build confidence in their outdoor swimming, a competent sea swimmer looking to challenge themselves and anywhere in between! Our retreats are not about distance and speed but about immersing oneself in the local landscape and getting to know the local communities.

One of Emma’s passions is languages, specifically Gaelic and its importance in the history of the Hebrides. Through storytelling and singing guests learn about the traditions and influences that have shaped the islands and leave with a greater understanding and appreciation of island life both past and present. Our itineraries are subject to weather, time and tides and always include two swims a day, a trip to Iona and yoga. Everything is optional and you can choose to do as much or as little as you like.

Prices start at £1225pp for 2026 retreats
