30 Anniversary jazz concert in Rothesay
The Bute Jazz Festival has been running since 1988, bringing jazz musicians and fans to Rothesay for a weekend of music and celebration. The Festival is taking a break in 2017 & 2018 and the organisers have plans to reintroduce jazz as part of the artistic offerings celebrating the re-opening of Rothesay Pavilion early in 2019.
This year, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Jazz festival there is a one off concert on 30 April at the 292 club in Rothesay. For more information and tickets visit Isle of Bute Jazz Festival
The festival has drawn some big names in the past, and the 2016 line-up included Richard White's Fivers, Havana Swing, and the Chicago Teddy Bears Society Jazz Band to town, among others. You can get the ferry to Bute from Wemyss Bay, which is a short train journey from Glasgow.
