Covid-19 Customer Updates and Travel Advice
Back to Latest Travel Guidelines

The way you sail with us has changed. What information should I be aware of prior to travel?

Before you travel with us, it's important to prepare and plan ahead. Some of our familiar processes have changed, and it is very important we all follow additional safety advice, to help protect each other and the islands and communities we serve.

Before you travel:

  • Please watch our short Safer Travel film which will help familiarise you with the additional safety measures we all must take prior to, during and after travel.

  • Don't travel if you or anyone in your household is experiencing Covid-19 symptoms, or if you are self-isolating.

  • Be aware of travel guidance, and only travel where it permits you to do so.

  • Plan ahead as much as possible and be prepared.

    • When travelling on our bookable┬ároutes, we strongly advise all passengers to book ahead.

    • Please check and adhere to the check-in times for your route. You'll find them on your tickets or on the timetable for your route.

    • When travelling on our 'turn up and go' routes, plan ahead as your first choice of sailing may not always be available. There may also be an extended wait time for your journey.

    • Please book online where possible. Reducing face to face contact is one way of helping to keep one another safe.
      Buy Tickets

    • For the same reason, please select 'print at home tickets' and bring them with you.

    • Pets travel for free. Foot passengers who wish to travel with a pet will need a zero-value pet ticket, which are subject to availability. Please complete our online form. If you are a vehicle passenger and wish to travel with your pet, we request that your pet remains in your vehicle during the crossing. Pets which remain in vehicles will not require a pet ticket. Ferries can be unfamiliar places for some pets - please familiarise yourself with our pet travel guidance prior to travel.

  • Familiarise yourself with any arrangements and advice in place at your destination as some features of island life may be different than previously experienced.

  • Don't travel without confirming any required accommodation at your destination.

  • Wash your hands regularly - particularly before, during and after travel.

At the port

  • You must wear a face covering when travelling with us, including at our port offices, unless exempt.

  • Always observe physical distancing guidelines.

  • Wash your hands before, during and after travel.

  • Where you need to pay, please do so using a contactless method. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Apple, Google and Samsung pay.

  • Follow our signage, and the advice of our staff at the port and on board the vessels.

  • In some instances, there may be an extended waiting time for your journey. Please plan ahead as much as possible.
