We’re pleased to confirm MV Isle of Arran, one of our major vessels, will return to service on 5 May 2026. We’ve shared details below on what this will mean for deployment of vessels on the network. For the very latest information, please always check the service status page for your route. This information is correct as of 4 May 2026.
Oban-Craignure, Mull – from 4 May to 8 May, MV Isle of Arran will operate service on the Oban-Craignure route alongside MV Loch Frisa. This allows for the increase of capacity on the route.
Oban-Coll-Tiree - until 8 May, MV Isle of Mull will operate an amended timetable on this route.
Oban - Colonsay - the latest information on the timetable and vessels operating this route, can be found on the service status page for this route.
Uig-Tarbert-Lochmaddy - MV Clansman will continue to operate the normal published summer timetable.
Mallaig – Armadale, Skye – from 5 May 2026, MV Coruisk will return to this route. This means once again the service can carry vehicles in addition to foot passengers. Please note, there will be passenger only vessels still operating on this route up to and including 5 May. Check service status for information on which sailings will be operated by each vessel.

This change is in line with the timescales of repairs to MV Hebrides, which is currently receiving repairs.

This development follows the news that one of our vessels, MV Hebrides, which was due to complete overhaul, requires further repairs.
Uig – Tarbert/Lochmaddy: MV Clansman will continue to operate the published summer timetable.
Oban – Coll/Tiree and Oban – Colonsay: MV Isle of Mull will operate this service to an amended timetable.
Oban – Craignure: MV Coruisk and MV Loch Frisa will operate this service to an amended timetable, however capacity will be reduced compared to the normal vessels operating on this route. Please book your return ticket prior to travel if you plan to sail, even as a foot passenger.
A passenger only charter vessel will operate this route until 2 May*. This is for foot passengers only. We apologise that there will be no vehicle service during this period. If you are planning to travel on this route until 2 May, please book prior to travel, and you can do so via Mallaig or Armadale ports.*Update - passenger only service until 6 May.

The plan outlined for the routes in the update below on 20 April, will now be extended to 29 April 2026.
This ensures we can provide as much certainty as possible on how our services will operate while we manage the delay on the return of one of our vessels, MV Hebrides.

Following on from our previous update on 16 April, we wanted to update you on our need to extend our current deployment plan on the routes listed below until 26 April.
The reason for this is due to a delay to the return of MV Hebrides. The vessel had been due to return to service, which would have allowed for the original changes outlined last week to be implemented. However, owing to further work being required on her gearbox, we will need to extend our current plan.
Please keep in mind that things can change in this situation, and for the latest information and full timetable details, please check the service status page for your route. This information is correct as of 20 April 2026.
Routes impacted:
Uig – Tarbert/Lochmaddy: MV Clansman will continue to operate the published summer timetable. An update on the return of MV Hebrides to this route, will be provided by 24 April.
Oban – Craignure: MV Coruisk and MV Loch Frisa are expected to continue to operate this service. We are currently reviewing the timetable and deployment options. An update regarding service from 22 April to 26 April will be provided on 21 April on our service status page for the route.

Oban – Coll/Tiree and Oban – Colonsay: MV Isle of Mull is expected to operate this service. We are currently reviewing the timetable and an update regarding service from 22 April to 26 April will be provided on 21 April on our service status pages for the route.
Mallaig – Armadale: 21 to 24 April and 26 April, - a passenger only charter vessel will operate this route. This is for foot passengers only. We apologise that there will be no vehicle service during this period. If you are planning to travel on this route as a foot passenger, please book prior to travel, and you can do so via Mallaig or Armadale ports, and check-in at our port office when you arrive. 25 April - Due to availability of vessels there will be no Mallaig-Armadale service on 25 April.

Advice if you’re planning to travel and still book / purchase a ticket
Always book or advance purchase your ticket prior to travel, even if you're travelling as a foot passenger.
For bookable routes, you’ll be booking a specific sailing with a date and time.
On a Turn Up and Go route, you will be purchasing a ticket that can be used at any time during the summer season, but it is not for a specific time, instead it’s for the next available sailing. So please do check timetables and plan. Most routes will be busier than normal this weekend. Plan ahead as your first choice of sailing may not be available.

An important note to customers
With the planned return of two of our major vessels over the next week, we will see improvement in vessel availability. However, we remain cautious but confident – and we know there are still communities experiencing disruption. We are so very aware of the challenges this period has presented to those customers using our service -thank you for your patience and understanding shown to our people.
