Essential Carriageway Maintenance - A78 - The Lighthouses to Kelly Burn
Friday 26th March to Monday 29th March
Works have been rescheduled to take place with a full weekend closure of the A78 carriageway, from Friday 26th March at 20:00 to Monday 29th March at 06:00.
The A78 will be closed at Wemyss Bay, with a signed diversion route in place for A78 trunk road traffic between Greenock and Largs.
A diversion route will be in place representing an increase in journey distance of approx. 35 km and an increase in journey time of approx. 37 minutes.
Additional journey time will be required if travelling along the diversion route.
There will be no provision for abnormal loads through the closure area or the diversion route.
Emergency services will not be affected – special arrangements will be in place to grant access through the closure area.
Access and egress to Wemyss Bay Ferry Terminal will be maintained from the South only.
Traffic wishing to access the Ferry Terminal will be required to do so from the South, and traffic exiting the Ferry Terminal will be required to travel South and follow the signed diversion.

Travelling in a vehicle - Due to limited passenger numbers on the vessel, all passengers MUST remain in their vehicles for the duration of this crossing.
