A87 RESURFACING WORKS – OVERNIGHT ROAD CLOSURES INFORMATION
Monday 8th to Friday 12th March 2021
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be undertaking essential carriageway resurfacing works on the A87 Trunk Road between Portree and Drumuie.
The works are programmed for construction from Monday 8th to Friday 12th March 2021, between 7pm and 7am, a total of five nights, with no works currently planned for Saturday or Sunday nights. Due to the nature of the works and restricted road widths, it will be necessary to close the A87 Trunk Road in both directions each night to ensure workforce safety and members of the public.
As there is no suitable diversion route, amnesties will be provided at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, 12am, 2am, 4am and 6am to allow waiting vehicles to be escorted through the site safely under a 10mph convoy traffic management system.
The road closure will be removed out with working hours, however a 30mph speed limit and warning signs will remain in place, as traffic will be travelling over a temporary road surface. Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
