A87 Trunk Road between Borve and Uig

Monday 7th September to Friday 18th September 2020

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be undertaking essential carriageway resurfacing works on three sites across the A87 Trunk Road between Borve and Uig. The works are programmed for construction from Monday 7th to Friday 18th September 2020, between 7pm and 7am, Monday night to Saturday morning each week, a total of 10 nights.
There are no works currently planned on Saturday or Sunday nights. Due to the nature of the works and restricted road widths, it will be necessary to close the A87 trunk Road in both directions each night to ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the public, which is of paramount importance.
The proposed works programme is as follows:

Site 1 - Uig to Rhu Bridge 07/09/2020 – 09/09/2020 (3 nights) A87 closed at work site. Seven timed amnesties provided each night

Site 2 – South Earlish Works to recommence Monday 14/09/20 to Wed 16/09/20 (3 nights)

Site 3 – Kensaleyre 17/09/2020 – 21/09/2020 (3 nights) No works on 19/09 or 20/09.

As there is no suitable diversion route, amnesties will be provided at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 12am, 2 am, 4am and 6am to allow waiting vehicles to be escorted through the site safely under a 10mph convoy traffic management system. The road closure will be removed out with working hours, however a 30mph speed limit will remain in place, as traffic will be travelling over a temporary road surface. Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
