Just a 10-minute walk from the Armadale ferry terminal, Armadale Castle, Gardens & Museum of the Isles is a historic Highland estate on the breathtaking Isle of Skye. Steeped in the history of Clan Donald, it brings together beautiful gardens, fascinating heritage and a warm Highland welcome, making it the perfect first or last stop on your island trip.

Explore 40 acres of gardens and woodland, planted with trees from five continents and set against stunning views across the Sound of Sleat. The romantic ruins of the castle offer a glimpse of its former grandeur and make a lovely spot for photographs or quiet reflection.

Fancy a longer walk? The Armadale hill and woodland walk starts right at the ferry terminal and climbs through the estate woods to views across to Knoydart (6km, about 2 hours). Further afield, try the woodland and lochside Coille Dalavil walk, or head to the lighthouse at the Point of Sleat, the southernmost tip of Skye.

In the Museum of the Isles, discover 1,500 years of Highland history, from the Picts and Somerled to the Jacobites, the Clearances and crofting.
