Are ferry concession paper vouchers for Western Isles areas and Young Scot cards changing?
Yes. The concessionary ferry voucher scheme will start to transition from a paper voucher to a digital voucher beginning 1 October 2026. You will be contacted by letter from your local authority when this change applies to you.
What you need to know from 1 October:
If you qualify for a concession from 1 October in the CnES (Comhairle nan Eilean Siar) and Young Scot routes, you will receive your NEC card pre-loaded with vouchers, which you can then 'tap' at your port of departure to receive the concession. Our team will be able to support you.
If you already have paper vouchers for CnES and Young Scot routes, you can continue to use your paper vouchers until the expiry date printed on them.
Should you need to transition to digital vouchers for any other reason, you will receive a letter from your local authority guiding you on how to access and use them.
If you have any questions or feedback on your concession, please contact your local authority or visit Opens in new windowTransport Scotland's website.
