Visit Raasay's first legal still at Raasay Distillery
Isle of Raasay Distillery opened in October 2017 after a journey to convert disused Victorian Borodale House into the island's first legal whisky distillery and Visitors Centre. It is the result of both a heritage in the Hebrides and a desire to produce premium quality craft whisky, influenced and inspired by the unique terroir of Raasay. Raasay Distillery are producing whisky that showcases the provenance of the island; that is, it tastes of the classic flavour notes indicative of where it is distilled. Until there is legal whisky to bottle in 2020 the company have produced Raasay While We Wait single malt - an aptly named representation of the style of whisky to come from this new distillery.
