Until Thursday 30 November - The normal vessel for this service, MV Loch Portain has an ongoing technical issue, meaning there are weather limitations in place which are affecting service. In favourable weather conditions, MV Loch Portain will operate, however, this will be managed on a day by day basis, the timetable can be viewed here.
10 November to 30 November 2023 - MV Alfred will support this service and operate daily between Tarbert and Lochmaddy. Timetable details can be found here. Bookings for this service can be made across all channels - online, by telephone and at our port offices. While this mitigation is in place, customers will pay the same fare between Tarbert-Lochmaddy as they would when travelling between Berneray-Leverburgh.
Uig Closure request sailing: The additional request sailing between Berneray-Leverburgh departing 10.35 from Berneray and 11.45 from Leverburgh will now not operate however the service from Tarbert-Lochmaddy remains in place. Planning ahead - Book your ticket online before in advance of travel - even if you're a foot passenger. When you book online, you will immediately receive an eTicket direct to your email inbox. Each eTicket has a QR code, meaning you'll instantly be ready to board. There's no need to print at home or collect your tickets at the port, eTickets can be scanned from your device.
Travelling with a bike - If you're travelling as a foot passenger and bringing your bike, please add your bike(s) to your booking, - this means that you have more certainty about space. This ticket will remain free of charge. If you're a vehicle passenger, travelling with a bike or roof rack, please add your details when prompted in the booking platform.
Blue badge holders - Blue Badge concessions are now available online, meaning they'll be applied to your ticket. This is an alternative to visiting the port office / speaking with staff. Please continue to carry your concession card or equivalent when you travel.

Check-in is 20 minutes prior to departure for vehicles and foot passengers - otherwise space will be reallocated. Late check-in may also lead to refusal of carriage.
