Apprenticeships Overview

Apprenticeships Overview

Caledonian MacBrayne operate the most extensive and complex ferry network in Britain, serving millions of passengers each year and employs more than 1,700 people both onshore and on board our vessels. There's a powerful idea at the core of everything we do: 'We are the heart and soul of the places we sail and the people we serve'. Our values - locality, bravery and people first - define our history, propel us forward and guide our people today.

We run a popular apprenticeship programme and we are a recognised leader of seagoing apprenticeships with the Merchant Navy. The Merchant Navy Training Board named Caledonian MacBrayne as one of the top five UK companies for maritime apprenticeships.

Gaining a spot on our Seagoing Modern Apprenticeship Programmes is a rewarding opportunity. It could also mean you begin your career with all expenses paid training. Caledonian MacBrayne's Seagoing Modern Apprenticeships pay well above the industry standard, on top of funding the cost of a college place in Glasgow city centre. As well as time at college, the majority of your training will take place on board our ships, where you will live for two weeks, before having two weeks off to do as you please.
