Port Askaig works - Advice during inclement weather 

Although the closure of Port Askaig takes place during the summer months (19 June - 30 July 2024), the area can be affected by inclement weather year-round.  

If bad weather is experienced in Port Ellen, we would normally divert to Port Askaig, however, this option won't be possible when the temporary closure is in place. Should this arise, will keep customers informed via our Service Status & Information pages, and should you be affected by a disruption, we will contact you via text or email.  

Similarly, should Kennacraig south berth not be useable for any reason during the period, the alternative mainland port will be Oban. Again, should this occur, we will keep customers informed throughout.
