Extra Sailings for Arran
Extra sailings for Arran
Increased demand from weekenders heading to the Isle of Arran for the Easter break has led ferry operator CalMac to lay on extra sailings.
Currently all sailings on Thursday (April 2) this week are full as people take advantage of the long weekend to get away.
To ease pressure on the route the MV Caledonian Isles will now run an extra return sailing on the day.
The vessel will depart Ardrossan at 2030 arriving Brodick at 2125.
It will return Brodick to Ardrossan at 2140 arriving 2235
In addition to the extra Easter sailings the MV Loch Tarbert will now start its summer service between Lochranza and Claonaig two days early from 0930 on Wednesday, April 1.
"Being part of the community on the west coast we realise the importance of providing a flexible responsive service at peak times for both local business and people travelling to the islands for a visit."
"Our long experience of serving these routes makes us ideally placed to know when to offer extra capacity on popular routes to cope with peak demand," said CalMac's Operations Director, Andrew Collier.
