MV Coruisk start date confirmed for Gourock-Dunoon

CalMac ferry MV Coruisk will again provide extra cover on the Gourock-Dunoon crossing this winter. The vessel will be deployed on December 28 until the end of March 2016.

CalMac ferry MV Coruisk will again provide extra cover on the Gourock-Dunoon crossing this winter

The vessel will be deployed on December 28 until the end of March 2016. The Coruisk will provide four additional return peak time sailings and provide additional bad weather cover on the Argyll Ferries Ltd operated route..

The decision follows discussions between Transport Scotland, the operator and local ferry users and after consideration of evidence from the vessel's deployment over the past two winters.

"Weather on this route over the winter months can be challenging and having the back up of the MV Coruisk again I'm sure will be welcomed by regular commuters," said CalMac's Area Operations Manager, Simon Richmond.
