Uig Harbour Closure
Uig Harbour Closure
Last updated: 30 November 2023
Temporary closure of Uig Harbour - 30 October to 16 December 2023
The Highland Council has confirmed that Uig Harbour is now scheduled to reopen on 16 December 2023 as opposed to Monday 11 December, following delays they have experienced to critical infrastructure works.
This means that services between Uig - Tarbert/Lochmaddy cannot resume until 16 December at the earliest. Berthing trials will take place from 14 December. Please be assured that alternative travel options, outlined below, will remain in place during this period to limit disruption and support customers and communities in the lead up to the busy festive period.
Our systems are currently being updated - thank you for your patience while we do this. We will be in contact with customers who have affected bookings to provide support.
While there was always a risk to the project timeline due to weather, we understand many of our service users will find the delayed reopening disappointing. The team at Caledonian MacBrayne will continue to work closely with Highland Council to understand progress on the project - we are aware that dates can always change, and we will be ready to support customers should that occur.
Current timetables and services up to 15 December are outlined below. Our dedicated web pages below are avaiable to help you plan around the closure - it includes details on travel options (summarised below), information on reservations, retrospective refund process and shuttle buses.
