Port Askaig Closure 19 June 2024 until 30 July 2024: From 19 June - 30 July, an amended timetable will be in operation on this route to allow for the next phase of Caledonian Maritime Asset Limited's (CMAL) infrastructure works at Port Askaig Ferry Terminal. This timetable is also relevant for those who are intending to travel to/from Colonsay during that period as well as Islay. Read our customer update for further details - including information on how we'll support customers during the period. Full timetable details can be found below. Those customers who have bookings between 31 July and 17 October who are affected, will be contacted by our team who are working in date order. Thank you for your patience while we do this.
Due to several damaged cabins on MV Hebridean Isles, crew require onshore accommodation. As a result of this, crew hours of rest are impacted. To provide the required hours of rest we will be unable to provide a vehicle service on Wednesdays between Islay and Colonsay for the remainder of the summer timetable.
Wednesdays 19 June - 24 July: Oban-Colonsay service has been cancelled and a passenger charter will operate on Wednesdays during this period. It can be booked via our Oban port office and full details are available in our service status and information page.
Wednesdays 31 July - 16 October: Oban-Colonsay services has been cancelled. A passenger charter will operate on Wednesdays until 7 August. From 14 August there is no charter currently available, however we will continue to explore alternative options. Bookings can be made via our Oban port office and full details are available in our service status and information pages.

Book your ticket online in advance of travel - even if you're a foot passenger. When you book online, you will immediately receive an eTicket direct to your email inbox. Each eTicket has a QR code, meaning you'll instantly be ready to board. There's no need to print at home or collect your tickets at the port, eTickets can be scanned from your device.
Travelling with a bike - If you're travelling as a foot passenger and bringing your bike, please add your bike(s) to your booking, - this means that you have more certainty about space. This ticket will remain free of charge. If you're a vehicle passenger, travelling with a bike or roof rack, please add your details when prompted in the booking platform.
Concessions and blue badge holders - SPT Ferry Card, Companion SPT Ferry Card and Blue Badge concessions are now available online, meaning they'll be applied to your ticket. This is an alternative to visiting the port office / speaking with staff. Please continue to carry your concession card or equivalent when you travel.
Check-in is 30 minutes prior to departure for vehicles and passengers - otherwise space will be reallocated. Late check-in may also lead to the vehicle being refused carriage.
