Check-in is 30 minutes prior to departure for vehicles and 10 minutes for foot passengers - otherwise space will be reallocated. Late check-in may also lead to the vehicle being refused carriage.

Each eTicket has a QR code, meaning you'll instantly be ready to board. There's no need to print at home or collect your tickets at the port, eTickets can be scanned from your device.
Port Askaig Closure 19 June 2024 until 30 July 2024: From 19 June - 30 July, an amended timetable will be in operation on this route to allow for the next phase of Caledonian Maritime Asset Limited's (CMAL) infrastructure works at Port Askaig Ferry Terminal. This timetable is also relevant for those who are intending to travel to/from Colonsay during that period as well as Islay. Read our customer update for further details - including information on how we'll support customers during the period. During this time, CMAL will close Port Askaig to allow the enabling works to go ahead - while Argyll and Bute Council will also carry out works alongside - all of which will accommodate the increased capacity of new, future vessels. Full timetable details can be found below. Those customers who have bookings between 31 July - 17 October who are affected, will be contacted by our team who are working in date order. Thank you for your patience while we do this. Any customers travelling Kennacraig - Port Ellen - Colonsay instead of Oban - Colonsay will be paying the same fare as they would on their normal route.
Wednesday 31 July - Friday 9 August: Harbour authorities have advised that the Kennacraig South Berth will now reopen on Friday 9 August. Due to the closure of the South Berth in Kennacraig, combined with MV Hebridean Isles crew requiring onshore accommodate as a result of damaged cabins, an amended timetable will operate, see timetable here
Saturday 10 August - Sunday 20 October: Due to a number of damaged cabins on MV Hebridean Isles, crew require onshore accommodation. As a result of this, crew hours of rest are impacted. We have amended our timetable for the duration of the Summer timetable to provide the required hours of crew rest. Please see timetable here
Kennacraig Ferry Terminal 08 January 2024 - 27 January 2025: From 08 January 2024, an amended timetable will be in operation to allow for the next phase of CMAL's infrastructure works at Kennacraig Ferry Terminal. This is available below and a customer update to support customers on what to expect is available here.
Making an online reservation for Islay - When booking travel to/from Islay online, please select the port you plan to travel to/from - either Port Ellen or Port Askaig. If your booking is for a return journey, and you are selecting different Islay ports for each leg, please use the 'multi-Island' booking feature, shown when prompted to select the ticket type you'd like. This feature can be used to bundle multiple journeys across our network and will allow customers to make a return booking with travel through different Islay ports.
