Customer update - Latest network update, North Uist and Harris services, 8 February 2024

As you will know, each year, the vessels we use undertake a period of annual overhaul. We are currently moving through the schedule - and as we do so, we are keen to keep customers updated with the latest details on how we are supporting services while the fleet is moved around the network to provide cover.

Uig - Tarbert and Uig - Lochmaddy

MV Alfred will deliver services on this route from Monday 12 February when MV Hebrides departs service to undertake annual overhaul. An amended timetable, which will be published on our service status and information pages, will be in operation between 12 February to 16 February inclusive while MV Alfred is in operation. This is primarily due to tidal restrictions at both Uig and Lochmaddy because of recent infrastructure works at ports by the relevant harbour owners.

If you have a reservation on this service during this period, our team will contact you to provide support and information on your amended booking.

When travelling on MV Alfred, which is on charter from Pentland Ferries, there is no retail offering currently available. We do apologise for this and ask you to plan for your journey with this in mind. There are local shops, cafes and hotels at Uig - including Uig Filling Station and Cafe at the terminal and Rankin's shop one mile before the terminal. There are further retail facilities at Portree, which is 18 miles from Uig.

MV Clansman is expected to return from overhaul and be available for service from Friday 16 February, and is then scheduled to deliver services on this route. We would like to reassure our customers that if you have a reservation with us during this period, our teams will be in touch to keep you updated of any changes.

Amended timetables will operate from Saturday 17 to Thursday 22 February inclusive on the Uig-Lochmaddy/Tarbert service. Full details will be available on our service status and information pages for the route.

This further change is due to a further delay to MV Clansman's overhaul and the need for MV Alfred to depart for her own overhaul. We've shared broader detail in our recent customer update.
